Bethune-Cookman University Job Title: Adjunct Faculty Nursing (Applicant Pool) Reporting Structure: Department Chair Nursing CoNHS Division:School of Nursing Job Summary: Adjunct faculty members hold part-time appointments with primary responsibilities for teaching. Adjunct faculty should not perform more than 30% of instructional requirements for any degree or certificate program and should not be assigned to teach more than nine credits per academic term. Adjunct faculty members will always receive term contracts and are not eligible for fringe benefits tuition remission promotion tenure and sabbatical leaves. Adjunct faculty members have no assurance of re-appointment or subsequent term appointments. Duties/Responsibilities: - Teaching
- Assess needs of students in the clinical area and provide meaningful learning experiences.
- Orient students to the clinical area and serve as role model.
- Complete formative and summative student evaluations.
- Conduct pre and post conferences in the clinical setting.
- Submit records of student performance to course leader.
- Other Responsibilities:
Required Skills/Abilities: - Strong clinical and professional skills
- Basic Life Support Certification
Education and Experience: - Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
Preferred Skills Experience and Education: - 2 years of teaching experience in an academic or healthcare setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
