The overall purpose of this position is to lead the innovative design and execution of key programs in support of geographic units worldwide and ensuring their ongoing future success. This includes the assessment identification and pursuing opportunities favorable to the efficient management of geographic units.
The position is the MGA staff lead for all geographic operational compliance solutions supporting required legal registration in country and the MGA compliance business and requires the ability to bring resolution to complex geographic unit issues in the most simple but practical approach.
This role reports to the Senior Director Geographic Activities and functions as an individual contributor.

Key Responsibilities
- Serves as the lead staff for the MGA Operations Manual Compliance Committee by providing reports presentations and other assignments as directed; coordinates all aspects of the committees activities and ad hoc assignments including but not limited to its orientation the preparation of agendas agenda items actions minutes meetings meeting arrangements and schedules
- Responsible to ensure all MGA compliance cases are resolved properly and effectively
- Monitors changes to the overall IEEE compliance process and ensures MGA is following the process as defined
- Sets expectations for geo unit and MGA volunteers on the path forward in resolving issues that are new or out of compliance and escalate items that have been delayed or unable to move forward.
- Partners with the IEEE Legal and Compliance office on identifying options and assessing recommended solution for country registration.
- Develops and deploys processes required for geographic units to continue to operate in as transparent a manner as possible while ensuring the objectives for registration are met.
- Additional areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Designs customized compliance training programs for target audiences.
- Develops sustainable business plans in support of programs
- Establishes clear direction and gains consensus of geographic unit leaders on the need and process for setting up their local registration.
- Ensure volunteer alignment and support is maintained on an ongoing basis as it relates to registrations
- Performs impact assessment of new and existing geographic unit activities and develops processes and gains stakeholder agreement to ensure successful outcome. For example the role and financial engagement by geographic units in contests humanitarian efforts etc.
- Researches and develops program solutions that deliver value to geographic unit areas with a perceived need for improvement.
- Willingness to work outside of regular business hours as required by the global nature and needs of the business

- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience Req
- Masters or other advanced degree Pref
- 7-10 years experience in industry or membership associations Req
- 4-7 years overall management experience Req
- Certification as a Compliance and Ethics Professional and/or Certified Associate Executive (CAE) Pref
- Training in Compliance areas relating to international regulations risk assessment policy and procedures development is preferred
- Proven leadership skills in directing managing coordinating and monitoring complex processes and problems
- Ability to manage organizational change problem solve make and implement high impact decisions
- Knowledge of the culture and political environment of a volunteer-led organization in order to problem solve and resolve issues
- Experience working with social media and content management systems
- Excellent organization skills with attention to detail
- Excellent business acumen project management business case planning and development and negotiating skills
- Proficient in process design implementation and management
- Foreign language skills desired
- Must be a technologically savvy knowledge worker who seeks out technology solutions to business challenges. Significant experience and demonstrated proficiency in MS suite :Excel Word Power Point as well as email systems social media systems and content management systems; Working knowledge of web page design is desirable
- Valid travel credentials (e.g. passport) required for business travel
