Transportation Manager

Job Summary

The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fleet ensuring customer base is provided prompt & efficient service by our team of drivers. The Transportation Manager is also responsible for developing business relationships with current and potential customers.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for transportation of raw materials; schedules all outgoing finished product and the transportation of such.
• Responsible for all routes and routing process; makes changes as necessary to ensure route efficiency; schedules all drivers ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
• Sets schedules and start times for raw materials transfer drivers to ensure a constant flow of material to the plant.
• Involved in hiring training and safety orientation of new drivers.
• Monitors DOT logs and driver timecards to guarantee drivers operate within regulations.
• Responsible for maintaining current accounts and enlisting new accounts in designated area.
• Provides prompt efficient quality service to all customers in area.
• All other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in route-based processes; to include:
  • supervision of route drivers.
  • customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid CDL Class A drivers license with clean driving record.
• Can communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
• Highly organized; superior time management skills.
• Able to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations.
• Leadership ability; able to direct and supervise others.
