About the Role:
As an NDIS Support Mentor you will play a vital role in supporting participants across the East Kimberley region to build independence engage in meaningful activities and thrive in their daily lives. Youll work closely with individuals families carers and internal teams to deliver high-quality person-centred services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting participants through engagement mentoring and goal-focused activities that promote independence and skill-building.
- Assisting with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene mobility eating and drinking and monitoring overall wellbeing in line with individual care plans.
- Performing household duties such as cleaning cooking laundry and shopping to support a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Providing short-term accommodation and respite support including overnight stays to ensure continuity of care when family or carers are unavailable.
- Building trusted relationships with participants families carers and wider support networks to ensure responsive and respectful service delivery.
- Collaborating closely with the Assistant Manager Disability Services and colleagues to ensure consistent high-quality care.
- Accurately documenting progress activities and support strategies in line with organisational systems and NDIS reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar or same support-based role.
- Proven ability to communicate professionally with participants and staff.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A current C Class drivers licence.
- Willingness to travel within the region including overnight stays.
Desirable:
- Certificate III (or higher) in Individual Support Community Services Disability Services or a related field.
Additional Requirements:
- National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- WA Working with Childrens Check.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
