Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Job Summary
Our Identity Security Cloud organization is looking for a well-rounded Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a focus on backend development. A successful Staff SDET should have excellent development and QA skills experience writing automation tests creating extensive test automation cases and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. We are looking for someone capable of driving several projects to completion from a QA perspective and a skilled technician that can also serve as a mentor to team. Responsibilities include building test automation designing automation testing best practices quality standards & processes manual testing of UI on web applications assisting engineers in creation of automation tests and maintaining healthy automation testing pipelines. We are looking for a visionary that delivers recommendations on how to evolve testing best practices within the organization that solve todays problems with the future direction of product testing in mind.
Responsibilities:
Developing promoting and maintaining quality standards and quality control systems.
Develop test automation framework that caters to the need of development team in areas of UI Automation Contract Testing API Testing
Collaborating with developers and engineering managers to develop best practices for automation testing.
Monitoring and analyzing quality performance and the health of our automation testing pipeline.
Assisting developers with testing issues and improving the teams knowledge in automation testing.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of testing environments.
Proactively help improve quality methodologies within the organisation to increase efficiency and work with other QA resources to form best practices for how to test our products.
Assisting in manual verification of full feature testing and ensuring quality across all supported devices.
Assist in optimizing workflows and processes used in our CI/CD pipelines.
Reviewing code specifications and processes related to testing.
Estimate prioritize plan and coordinate testing activities.
Participate in planning sessions to gain knowledge of how to best create test plans for solutions designed.
Requirements:
10 years of experience in quality engineering.
Proficient in developing code in Java.
Experience in developing Test Automation Framework with tools like Pact Postman Cypress Karate.
Experience writing test cases for manual verification of web applications.
Experience with testing REST APIs in a microservice environment.
Experience with Jenkins Cloudbees and CI/CD workflows.
Familiarity with AWS and testing SaaS applications
Familiarity with SQL and NonSQL data stores.
Familiarity with observability tools such as Kibana and Datadog.
Familiarity with setting up Synthetic monitoring or similar means of simulating user behavior on live services.
Must have previous experience with requirements defect functional and performance management systems.
Self-starter familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience planning and executing multi-sprint tasks with experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Seek to deeply understand business problems
Proactively collaborate on discuss debate and refine ideas problem statements with different (sometimes many) stakeholders architects and members of your team.
Collaborate closely with software engineers perf team and other stakeholders to define test requirements resolve issues and ensure proper integration of testing processes.
Onboard and shadow teams on call rotation
By 6 months:
Occasionally serve as a debugging expert during escalations of systems issues that have evaded the ability of less experienced engineers to solve in a timely manner.
Independently own and drive the teams automation and perf testing needs for the projects team is responsible for
