Logistics Co-Ordinator

Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: 33000
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 17:15 fully onsite

ACS Staffing Solutions are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Logistics Co-Ordinator on behalf of our client based in Milton Keynes.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and commercially minded logistics professional with strong experience across international freight customs compliance and export documentation. The successful candidate will take ownership of end-to-end logistics operations across UK and international markets ensuring shipments are delivered accurately compliantly and on time.

The role would suit an individual with strong hands-on experience across international shipping operations customs procedures and freight coordination who enjoys working within a fast-paced and detail-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Transport Freight & Distribution

• Coordinate and manage international shipments across road sea and air freight
• Manage domestic European and global distribution activity
• Create and validate commercial invoices ensuring accuracy across:
  • Commodity codes (HS codes)
  • Country of Origin (COO)
  • Customs values
  • Incoterms
  • Freight and insurance details
• Manage export declaration processes and customs documentation
• Operate Chamber of Commerce portals for Certificates of Origin and document legalisation
• Liaise with freight forwarders and carrier platforms including UPS and DHL
• Compare freight rates negotiate costs and optimise delivery performance
• Ensure correct application of Incoterms across all shipments

Customs Compliance & Regulatory Control

• Calculate and verify customs duties VAT and associated charges
• Ensure accurate commodity code assignment and customs compliance
• Maintain Country of Origin documentation for imports and exports
• Monitor international trade regulations and customs legislation
• Act as the key point of contact for customs-related queries and escalations
• Manage post-Brexit UKEU customs procedures and border documentation
• Ensure ongoing compliance with EORI customs valuation and trade requirements

Dangerous Goods & Reverse Logistics

• Coordinate dangerous goods shipments including lithium-ion batteries
• Ensure compliance with IATA IMDG and ADR regulations
• Manage returned goods processes and customs re-import documentation
• Maintain accurate inventory reconciliation processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Production Planning to align shipment schedules
• Liaise with Sales Purchasing Finance and Customer Service teams
• Review freight invoices and resolve discrepancies
• Provide updates regarding delivery schedules freight costs and customs implications

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain full shipment traceability from order through to delivery
• Monitor and report on logistics KPIs including:
  • On-time delivery
  • Freight cost efficiency
  • Documentation accuracy
  • Proof of Export and Delivery
• Challenge logistics suppliers and freight providers to improve commercial terms and reduce costs
• Support continuous improvement across logistics and supply chain operations

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience within logistics freight forwarding shipping or supply chain coordination
• Strong hands-on knowledge of international shipping and customs processes
• Experience exporting to Far East and Middle East markets
• Strong understanding of:
  • Commercial invoices
  • Export declarations
  • Commodity codes
  • Country of Origin requirements
  • Customs duties
  • Incoterms
• Experience using ERP systems and freight forwarder portals
• Knowledge of post-Brexit UKEU customs procedures
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Commercially aware with strong negotiation capability
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills
