ABOUT THE ROLE

You will work on residential and commercial construction projects under
Norwegian site standards. The position is suitable for skilled tradespeople
ready to relocate to Norway and integrate into a professional Norwegian
construction environment.

MAIN DUTIES

What an expert carpenter must be able to do independently:

- Framing and load bearing structures (bindingsverk bærende konstruksjoner):
build walls floors and ceilings according to drawings
- Roof structures (sperrer takstoler taktro): rafters trusses and roof boarding
- Exterior cladding (utvendig kledning) with ventilated rainscreen wind barrier
(vindsperre) battens and proper sealing
- Insulation (isolasjon) plus correct installation of vapour barrier (dampsperre)
according to Norwegian standards (TEK17)
- Installation of doors windows and stairs including precise fitting and sealing
- Reading technical drawings and working independently from project plans
- Accurate measuring marking and cutting of materials
- HMS (health safety environment) awareness and safe work at heights with
fall protection
- Coordination with other trades on site and following the foremans daily plan

REQUIREMENTS

- Carpenter diploma / vocational certificate from country of origin (required
must be presented certified copy)
- Documented professional experience as a carpenter on construction sites
- References from the most recent employer (required including contact name
company phone or email; references will be verified before the offer is made)
- EU / EEA citizenship (only EU/EEA candidates can be considered for this
position)
- Fluent English spoken and written sufficient for daily communication with
team and supervisor
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Knowledge of standard hand and power tools used in carpentry
- Willingness to follow Norwegian safety culture and site procedures
- Physically fit punctual reliable and quality oriented
- Willingness to relocate to Bergen and work on site

Nice to have: previous experience working in Norway or another Scandinavian
country basic Norwegian language skills.

WHAT THE NORWEGIAN EMPLOYER OFFERS

- Salary according to the Norwegian tariffavtale for the construction sector
level determined by experience and qualification category
- Working hours: 37 hours per week ordinary working time up to 48 hours per
week including overtime
- Overtime compensation: 50% on standard overtime 100% on Sundays and
public holidays
- Holiday pay (feriepenger) according to Norwegian rules (Ferieloven)
- Occupational injury insurance (yrkesskadeforsikring) and occupational pension
(OTP) provided as required by law
- Work clothes provided by the employer
- HMS kort / ID kort for construction sites arranged by the employer
- Accommodation arranged by the employer: single room in a shared apartment
with all necessary conditions and equipment (kitchen bathroom heating
internet washing machine). Cost: 6 000 NOK per month deducted
from salary
- A stable assignment with a serious Norwegian staffing partner and verified
end clients in Bergen

TRAVEL AND RELOCATION

- International transport to Norway is not covered by the employer.
- For the right candidate the employer may pre-finance the plane ticket
with the cost deducted from the first salary.
