ABOUT THE ROLE
You will work on residential and commercial construction projects under Norwegian site standards. The position is suitable for tradespeople with solid hands on carpentry experience who are ready to relocate to Norway and integrate into a professional construction team.
MAIN DUTIES
Tasks include but are not limited to:
Framing and basic load bearing structures: build walls floors and ceilings according to instructions
Roof structures: rafters trusses and roof boarding following site plans
Exterior cladding battens and basic sealing Insulation and vapour barrier installation according to Norwegian standards (TEK17)
Installation of doors windows and stairs including fitting and sealing
Plasterboard (gipsplater) installation on walls and ceilings
Accurate measuring marking and cutting of materials Work at heights with fall protection following site safety rules
Coordination with other trades on site and following the foremans daily plan
REQUIREMENTS
Carpenter diploma or vocational certificate from country of origin OR minimum 5 years of documented professional experience as a carpenter on construction sites
Only EU/EEA candidates can be considered for this position
Fluent spoken English sufficient to understand site instructions safety rules and daily communication with the team and supervisor
Knowledge of standard hand and power tools used in carpentry
Willingness to follow Norwegian safety culture and site procedures
Physically fit punctual reliable and quality oriented
Willingness to relocate to Bergen and work on site
Nice to have: ability to read technical construction drawings previous experience in Norway or Scandinavia references from a previous employer basic Norwegian language skills.
WHAT THE NORWEGIAN EMPLOYER OFFERS
Salary according to the Norwegian tariffavtale for the construction sector level determined by experience and qualification category
Working hours: 37 hours per week ordinary working time up to 48 hours per week including overtime
Overtime compensation: 50% on standard overtime 100% on Sundays and public holidays
Holiday pay (feriepenger) according to Norwegian rules (Ferieloven)
Occupational injury insurance (yrkesskadeforsikring) and occupational pension (OTP) provided as required by law
Work clothes provided by the employer
HMS kort / ID kort for construction sites arranged by the employer
Accommodation arranged by the employer: single room in a shared apartment with all necessary conditions and equipment (kitchen bathroom heating internet washing machine). Cost: 6 000 NOK per month deducted from salary
A stable assignment with a serious Norwegian staffing partner and verified end clients in Bergen
TRAVEL AND RELOCATION
International transport to Norway is not covered by the employer.
For the right candidate the employer may pre finance the plane ticket with the cost deducted from the first salary.
