Job Summary:
Position is responsible for managing the relationship and monitoring performance of information technology vendors
contracted for the delivery of outsourced services. Working closely with the information technology user groups and
contracted service providers to assess internal needs and vendor performance. Responsibility includes establishing
and monitoring service level agreements. Auditing contractual compliance solicits feedback from users and
communicates scorecards to vendors.
Requires in-depth knowledge and experience. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing
solutions. Works independently; receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Attendance and schedule adherence
are requirements of this position.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintaining accuracy with all IT Asset related information including information and processes for software:
entitlements discovery utilization audit and compliance.
Implementing strategy for Software Asset Management (SAM) that provides optimal business returns.
Utilizing a Total IT Asset Management methodology to lifecycle management spanning Governance
Fulfillment Auditing Active Asset Management Disposition and IT Financial Management.
Partnering with IT Finance in the financial evaluation of assets and serve as liaison to the organization as it
relates to the functions of this position.
Ensuring all accounting regulatory corporate and legal requirements are met and followed globally for IT
hardware and software assets.
Recommending and implementing improved process for managing cost allocations for IT services that provide
visibility install IT services such as mainframe distributed services software entitlement allocation
telecommunications and much more.
Optimizing and maintaining policies and processes for effective lifecycle management (governance fulfillment
auditing active asset management disposition IT financial management) of hardware and software assets so
that the roles and responsibilities for the management and use of IT assets are followed.
Building strong working relationships with IT Finance IT Operations Group and Technology Project Managers
to ensure that fulfillment auditing active asset management and disposition processes and any resulting data
changes are known understood and acted upon appropriately.
Performing implementation of business solutions to meet requirements.
Implementing requirements for software assets and related data to meet specified standards and processes
achieving adherence to governance and regulatory requirements and assisting in the strong management of
risk compliance.
Performing audits assessments and deployment planning activities.
Reconciling and validating software licenses of installed assets.
Preparing presentations with summary information in regard to positional data in regard to the IT Asset
Portfolio.
Preparing trend reports management tenable forecast positions.
Monitoring the deployment of hardware and software to ensure consistency and compliance with ITAM
mission.
Interacting with Senior Management to share progress on key initiatives and keep them abreast of relevant industry trends.
Processing and reporting for IT asset management so that decisions can be made to provide the best possible support in the achievement of stated business objectives including internal trends analysis IT utilization (hardware and software) and risk analysis.
Qualifications & Job Skills:
Bachelors degree required Masters or graduate certifications preferred. Typically requires a minimum of 5
years of related experience
5 years of experience with IT operating environments.
2 years working with client/server technologies.
2 years demonstrated experience working in financial environments.
2 years working with 3 tiered server application environments.
2 years working with virtualization technologies.
Solid understanding of the software IT asset portfolio terms of physical (inventory and usage) and fiscal
(financial and contract).
Perceptible knowledge of IT Asset Management tools such as CA Asset Portfolio Management and Microsoft
SMS/SCCM/MAP.
Demonstrated basic understanding of GAAP.
Solid general knowledge of database technologies and data normalization.
Demonstrated proficient understanding of Server and Workstation operating system technologies.
Proficient working knowledge of client/server technologies.
Solid leadership and relationship management capabilities.
Ability to work with complexity in global environments.
