Hume Riverina Community Legal Service (HRCLS) a program of Upper Murray Family Care (UMFC) is seeking a passionate and values-driven Lawyer to join our Civil Law Practice deliveringonsite place-based legal assistance services including the provision of legal information referrals advice and ongoing casework to priority clients.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to improved access to justice for priority clients in regionalruraland cross-border communities.
About the Role
As a Lawyer within our Civil Law Practice you will:
- Delivertargetedefficientand effectivelegal informationadviceand ongoing casework to priority clients
- Provide duty lawyer services and court representation whererequired
- Work collaboratively partners and sector stakeholders
- Deliver community legal education and secondary consultations
- Contribute to law reform and systemic advocacy initiatives
- Participate in reflective supervision and ongoing professional development
- Work within a trauma-informed culturallysafeand collaborative service model grounded in UMFCs values and Sanctuary commitments.

You will bring:
- Eligibility for a practising certificate in Victoria
- Experience (or strong interest) in civil law matters such as tenancy fines consumer credit and debt or insurance
- Demonstrated ability to work with clients experiencing trauma familyviolenceand complex needs
- Strong communicationskills including the ability to deliver community legal education
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team
- Experience providing representation in the Magistrates Court of Victoria and/or the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia will be highly regarded.
