About the role
Tasmanian Quality Meats are seeking Skilled Meat Workers to join our team at our Cressy Plant. These positions will be on a permanent full-time basis 38 hours per week. Applicants must have experience in knife handling to suit a variety of lamb processing tasks across our business and be able to perform these tasks competently.
Responsibilities
- Perform skilled slaughtering boning or slicing tasks on lamb sheep and veal carcasses according to company specifications and industry standards.
- Use specialised knives tools and machinery to perform tasks.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices.
- Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned to support overall operations.
Criteria
- Excellent knife skills and knife handling with proven experience.
- Pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol test.
- Certificate III in Meat Processing required or working towards this accreditation.
- Knowledge and understanding of quality and food safety requirements.
Remuneration
This position will be within the range of $60000$70000 per annum plus superannuation subject to your skills qualifications and experience. Paid by an hourly rate there is the opportunity to earn more through overtime and weekend work.
The person chosen for this role must have the ability to work in a varied role as part of a team or individually have high work standards and take pride in their work performed.
