Job Summary
ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback.
The Position:
We are currently seeking an experienced Head Chef to work out at our Hail Creek Village in Central Queensland on a full time basis. Catering for approximately 800-900 residents. This role reports directly to Site Management and would also need to be able to supervise up to approximately 15 employees at any given time.
You will work a 9 day on 5 days off roster 10 hours per day.
Flights will be paid for you from Brisbane and return.
Responsibilities
- Prepare buffet style bulk cooking for Breakfast and Crib lunch or Dinner and Desserts
- You will work within a team of Chefs kitchen utilities & dining room employees to deliver exceptional quality and service to the village residents.
- Adhere to safe work practices and safe food handling procedures.
- Ensure all catering controls are in place & wastage is kept to the minimum.
- Offer guidance and support to the kitchen team where needed to ensure a great experience for all customers.
- Enhance workplace culture display high levels of customer service contribute ideas and be flexible to meet the needs of the business.
The Person
- Minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is highly regarded.
- Previous Head Chef/supervisory experience mandatory
- Bulk catering experience
- Strong HACCP knowledge
- You will have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and great time management is a must.
- Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations
