Job Summary

Senior Project Officer

ASHM is not-for-profit organisation seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer (SPO)to lead the delivery of high-quality health programs within our National Policyand Education division. The role is responsible for managing innovativeprojects lead stakeholder engagement and drive policy and advocacy will have the opportunity to work with clinical experts influence nationalhealth policy and help shape the direction of critical health programs.

About You

You are a strategic and motivated mid-to-senior level Project Officer with experience delivering complex health programs. You thrive in leadership roles confidently guiding cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities in dynamic fast-paced environments. With a strong understanding of the health sector you bring excellent analytical organisational and communication skills along with the ability to drive projects from planning through to successful delivery.

Employment status: Full-time Fixed term (12 months contract)

Salary: $75000 to $90000 super salary packaging

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage discrete and complex health projects and committees ensuring alignment with ASHMs strategic goals and sector priorities.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans timelines budgets risk registers and monitoring frameworks. Monitor and evaluate projects for continuous improvement sharing insights with theteam and management.
  • Support business development identifying opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the sector.
  • Supervise junior staff and coordinate workplans ensuring tasks are completed on time and to standard.
  • Contribute to planning and reporting including proposal development team updates and accurate meeting documentation.
  • Identify assess and manage project risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with funders clinicians community organisations government and non-government organisations and professional societies.
  • Manage project budgets monitor expenditure and ensure financial accountability
  • Contribute to policy and advocacy within project areas
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial and activity reports for funders.
  • Oversee the development of training materials and resources tailored to clinical needs in projectcountries.
  • Contribute to policy development and advocacy efforts within relevant project areas.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving financial and analytical acumen
  • Proven skills in the successful management of health related projects (including stakeholder engagement workplan development and delivery compliance budget management and reporting)
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships at an operational and strategic level with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Skills to lead and support staff across multiple projects promoting collaboration and performance.
  • Ability to evaluate and improve program delivery using data and stakeholder feedback.
  • Proficient in project and learning management tools (e.g. ClickUp LMS LearnDash) and Microsoft Office.
  • Cultural competence and cross-cultural communication
  • High-level organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in health allied health education strategy business management or a related field; or current enrolment in such a program; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A clinical background with experience in the BBV/STI sector is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and sound understanding of project management principles.
  • Experience in working to and reporting on budgets and work plans.
  • Experience supervising staff across multiple projects or workstreams with a focus on collaboration performance support and team development.
  • Willingness to travel for work as needed (domestically).
