Job Summary
Reporting to the Head Chef the Line Cook is responsible for producing the highest quality dishes working efficiently and mastering cleanliness in their environment.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and senior chefs to accurately execute food orders and ensure consistent and high-caliber food preparation and presentation that meets restaurant standards.
- Ensure the highest level of hygiene cleanliness and food safety is adhered to in the handling of food items.
- Ensure all food products are stored in appropriate containers labeled and rotated to minimize waste maximize quality and ensure freshness.
- Respond in a positive budget-conscious and timely manner to all internal and external guest requests and complaints while meeting the restaurants standards to exceed the guests expectations.
- Accurately follow all reporting procedures for accidents and incidents in the workplace.
- Adhere to all policies and guidelines checklists prep sheets and par sheets as assigned.
- Aid in meeting and exceeding department objectives.
- Consistently conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner.
- Motivate fellow staff and encourage high self-esteem and efficiency in the workplace.
- Display a positive attitude and contribute to a healthy team culture.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required to support the overall effectiveness of the kitchen team and ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications :
- Minimum one year of prep or cooking experience is preferred.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills.
- Experience working more than one station at a time is considered an asset.
- Strong English communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with team members partners and leaders.
- Ability to maintain professionalism control and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
- WHMIS Certification is required but can be obtained once hired.
- Food Safe Certification is required but can be obtained within 30 days of being hired.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Information :
Salary Range: $18 - $20 per hour plus gratuities
