POSITION SPECIFICS
Join thePennsylvania State University Libraries as aLibraryServicesSpecialistandsupport access to extensive government information and microform collections.
TheMicroforms and Government Informationteamhome to this positionprovides consultation and research support for federal state and international government resources as well as specialized microform collections comprising over 96000 reels of microfilm 144000 microfiche and 12000 microopaque sheets.
TheLibraryServicesSpecialistplays a key part in maintaining and organizing these collections delivering research and reference services supporting user access to microform technology and collaborating with library partners to ensure highquality public services and efficient operations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain and manage microforms collections including collection shifts transfers and reorganizations using multiple classification systems.
Assist with hiringtraining and overseeingstaff; develop and maintain procedures and training documentation for microforms equipment and collections.
Provide in-person and remote reference service at the Microforms and Government Information service desk; assist users with microformat scanning circulation and daily operations.
Maintain working knowledge of arts humanities and social sciences information resources and subject databases.
Create edit and maintain public- and staff-facing Microforms and Government Information web pages usingLibApps.
Perform basic catalog and holdings record maintenance including updating and correcting records as needed.
Serve as the units technology liaison providing technical support and troubleshooting for microformat scanners and assisting with equipment evaluation and selection.
Important Note: TheLibraryServicesSpecialistwill work fully on-site at Penn States University Park campus.

MINIMUM EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
If filled as Library Services Specialist - Advanced Professional this position requires: Bachelors Degree 3 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None If filled as Library Services Specialist - Intermediate Professional this position requires: Bachelors Degree 1 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: NoneA degree in history political science library science or a related field will be considered a plus.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position including all possible grades is $38300.00 - $61000.00.Salary Structure - Information on Penn States salary structure
