The North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is seeking an Administrative Associate II for our Service Center located in Greenville NC. This position performs a variety of tasks in support of the Veterans Service Center. This position composes/formats letters reports and records; establishes paper and electronic files for said correspondence. Processes mail for the assigned veterans service center. Duties include using a computer to type reports spreadsheets develop and maintain data reports. Position will use the internet for research and to update NC DMVAs data web-based programs. Work requires knowledge and use of office equipment - fax machine copier scanner computer and shredder. Daily use of Microsoft Office is required. Work also includes daily public contact via in person telephone and email. Employee will be sole administrative support for the Veterans Service Center; therefore must be independent worker capable of making routine decisions and referrals without supervision.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/ Competencies

  • Documented experience with Microsoft Office using programs such as Access Word and Excel.
  • Documented experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports.
  • Documented experience interpreting and/or explaining policies procedures and laws to clients/customers and staff.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently as well as part of a team
  • Experience with letter writing using correct spelling punctuation and proofreading.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
