The Opportunity
As a ServiceNow Catalog Software Test Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of ServiceNow applications features and products through comprehensive testing processes. You will play a critical role in developing and executing test plans identifying and resolving defects and adhering to Takedas quality standards and compliance requirements.
This role entails creating and maintaining comprehensive test scripts utilizing both manual and automated testing techniques to validate ServiceNow Service Catalog items and workflows ensuring adherence to GxP (and/or Non-GxP) standards and other regulatory requirements.
Additionally you will perform functional user acceptance performance scalability and regression testing to guarantee that Takedas ServiceNow platform meets global standards. Through continuous improvement of testing processes tools and frameworks you will contribute to the efficient delivery of high-quality digital solutions while actively identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
1. Test Planning and Design:
- Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases for enterprise systems and applications ensuring alignment with Takedas quality standards.
- Define clear repeatable test cases aligned with SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Highlight potential risks and bottlenecks in processes or applications to stakeholders on a timely basis along with proposed mitigation strategies.
- ServiceNow release - Review release notes Identify impacted modules and business processes. Create detailed test scenarios and cases covering both new and existing functionality. Prepare role-based test plans to validate permissions and access. Joining daily/ weekly status calls and representing the team.
2. Execution and Analysis:
- Conduct Functional User Acceptance Performance Scalability and Regression testing to ensure applications meet global Takeda standards.
- Validate integration between ServiceNow and other application platforms.
- Ensuring correct access controls and permissions across user roles.
- Utilize automation testing tools and methodologies to drive efficiently.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify recurring issues and propose preventive measures.
- Experience in creating reusable test steps and managing test suites.
- ServiceNow release - Validate new features configurations and bug fixes across relevant modules. Execute manual and automated tests. Perform regression testing to ensure stable performance of legacy components. Document unexpected behaviors.
3. Defect Management:
- Actively engage in defect lifecycle management including monitoring tracking triaging issues and providing actionable insights.
- Detect document and prioritize defects with detailed high-quality reports.
- Assist development teams in debugging and resolving issues.
- ServiceNow release - Log defects with clear steps to reproduce expected vs. actual outcomes and severity. Ensure timely implementation of fixes proactively retest updated features and validate resolution effectiveness.
4. Automation and Monitoring:
- Design and implement test automation and monitoring solutions.
- Adhere to compliance and regulatory guidelines (such as GxP) with pharmaceutical digital solutions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test scripts for both manual and automated testing scenarios.
5. Collaboration and Adherence:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements track defects and ensure system functionality.
- Work within cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with solutions platform and data architectural standards.
- Ensure alignment with Takedas data integrity policies and maintain comprehensive testing documentation.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes tools and frameworks at Takeda.
- Participate in project and sprint planning to provide testing perspectives and estimates.
- Advocate for quality processes and enterprise best practices.
- Support UAT and resolve issues collaboratively.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science/Information technology; or relevant work experience.
- 3 years of experience with ServiceNow modules specifically Request Catalog Workflows App Engine coupled with a strong understanding of IT Service Management processes.
- Ability to design and execute test cases using ServiceNows Automated Test Framework.
- 5 years of experience with expertise in Functional User Acceptance and Regression testing methodologies.
- Ability to create and maintain cohesive testing documentation and test artifacts.
- Basic understanding of JavaScript for validating client/server-side logic.
- Experience with automation testing tools and capable of designing scalable frameworks.
- Knowledge of GxP compliance and other regulatory guidelines within the pharmaceutical industry (preferred).
- Strong familiarity with Agile SDLC and DevSecOps methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions.
- ServiceNow System Administrator certification (preferred).
- ServiceNow Application Developer certification (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent English (both written and oral).
