2026-2027 Chemistry Teacher (Helix Aviation Academy)

Position Summary

HAA is seeking a passionate and student-centered Chemistry Teacher to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate brings strong content knowledge a commitment to educational equity and the ability to engage students by connecting chemistry concepts to aviation and real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging standards-aligned Chemistry instruction

Design and implement inquiry-based labs demonstrations and projects that promote critical thinking and student engagement

Connect chemistry concepts to aviation and real-world applications where appropriate

Establish a structured and inclusive classroom environment that supports academic achievement and personal growth

Use formative and summative assessment data to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners

Collaborate with colleagues on school-wide initiatives and instructional planning

Maintain clear and consistent communication with students and families

Additional Expectations

All HAA teachers are expected to lead or support one club or Enrichment course during designated school hours (non-compensated)

As a Verizon Innovative Learning School all teachers are expected to actively integrate technology to enhance instruction and promote digital equity

Participate in professional learning communities and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Chemistry Science Education or a related field (required)

Teaching experience preferred

Strong classroom management planning and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to implement culturally responsive teaching practices and integrate instructional technology
