SUMMARY:

The Department of Educational Leadership is seeking one assistant/associate professor for a 9-month tenure-track position. The position will begin in the fall 2026. Faculty at East Texas A&M University are required to conduct scholarly activities work cooperatively with others and contribute service to their discipline the university and the community.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach masters and doctoral level courses in educational leadership;

• Design conduct and publish research to include publications in peer-reviewed journals

• Advise students;

• Prepare syllabi;

• Update course materials;

• Develop curriculum;

• Deliver instruction both online and face-to-face at any of the universitys sites; instructional duties may include teaching during the day the evening or Saturday;

• Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs;

• Provide service to the department college university public schools and the community;

• Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of current trends in learning via research best practices and technological applications in the classroom that include online instruction; and

• Chair dissertations to completion.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: doctorate in educational leadership or educational administration from a regionally- accredited U.S. university

• Experience/Knowledge/Skills: strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals; strong written and oral communication skills; commitment to high quality instruction; dedication to high standards and student success; record of or potential for scholarship; strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills

• Ability to: multitask and work collegially as part of a team

• Licensing/Professional Certifications: principal certification

• Physical Requirements: not applicable

• Other Requirements:

  • 3 years of K-12 teaching experience

  • Experience teaching online in higher education

  • 3 years of experience as a public school administrator

PREFERRED EDUCATION/SKILL/EXPERIENCE:

• Experience teaching in a graduate program

• Experience chairing dissertations to completion

• Superintendent Certification and Experience

• Record of publication
