Job Summary
As Chief Engineer Screens you will lead the product development and design of FLSmidths vibrating equipment portfolio. This role involves analysing and solving complex engineering challenges while providing technical leadership across projects. You will mentor and guide engineers designers and drafters fostering high standards of engineering excellence. This role plays a key part in supporting the design engineering and delivery of advanced screen and vibrating feeder solutions at FLSmidth.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for working with marketing/customers to define next generation products for global marketplace.
Take overall technical responsibility to interpret organise execute and coordinate design engineering assignments involving unique or controversial problems ensuring compliance to Local Legislation and Regional Industry Standards.
Takes ownership of the development of design standards/guides guide specifications and design control procedures in line with to Local Legislation and Regional Industry Standards.
Plan organise and supervise engineering activities for product line/ major projects
Represent respective product line/projects at meetings and conferences.
Prepare patents and technical papers to be presented at conferences or for technical publications.
Participates in the development of project design concepts and criteria.
Analyses complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.
Review and approve design drawings.
Review customer specifications.
Participates actively in team environment and contributes to successful completion of team goals.
Accept accountability for both individual and team performance.
What you bring
Mechanical Engineering qualification with 10 years experience in a similar role
Ability to analyse and solve complex engineering problems through the application of advanced knowledge
Extensive experience in the vibration analysis of equipment using first principles and FEA methods
Proficient in the use of ANSYS and SolidWorks
