The role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Setup Technician (PM Shift) to support our production and engineering teams. This role is responsible for production setups including mold changes parts handling and automation changeovers as well as maintaining and improving tooling conditions. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined safety-focused and able to troubleshoot effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Schedule & Working Conditions

• Shift: 6:00 PM 6:00 AM (12-hour rotating schedule)

• Schedule Type: Two-week rotating schedule

• Breaks: 30-minute paid lunch three (3) paid 15-minute breaks

• Overtime & On-Call: Required as needed

Environment:

• Industrial manufacturing setting

• Concrete flooring; prolonged standing and walking

• Ambient temperatures 65F85F

• Moderate to high equipment noise

• Forklift traffic present

• Food-safe facility with GMP standards

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Technical Support

• Perform preventative maintenance on molds and production equipment

• Conduct mold repairs and troubleshooting (including hot runners and controllers)

• Support mold qualifications machine startups and engineering projects

• Install and repair parts handling and automation systems

• Troubleshoot wiring electrical and automation issues

• Manage parts handling preventative maintenance programs

Production Support

• Assist with mold changes insert changes and machine start-ups

• Respond to machine alarms and troubleshoot production issues

• Support packers and production team members as needed

• Recover blocked parts and ensure smooth production flow

Documentation & Inventory

• Maintain mold condition and status documentation

• Track spare parts inventory and submit purchase requests

• Complete packing slips and maintain R&D press schedules

• Keep tool and work areas organized

General Duties

• Perform precision measurements on molds and inserts

• Repair small parts and parts handling equipment

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tooling area

• Comply with safety protocols and PPE requirements

• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

• Experience with precision measuring tools

• Solid math and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

• Excellent attendance and reliability

• Positive team-oriented attitude

Preferred:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Manufacturing experience

• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in setup technician roles
