A leading insurance and investment platform is seeking an AVP Actuarial Financial Reporting to join its actuarial valuation organization and lead financial reporting for a portfolio of Variable Annuity blocks.
This is a highly visible role for an actuarial leader who understands Variable Annuities valuation reserves GAAP/STAT reporting and earnings analysis. The position is not a model-building role; instead this team works closely with modeling finance accounting STAT GAAP and data teams to analyze model outputs book reserves explain results and support executive-level financial reporting.
What youll do
- Lead actuarial financial reporting and valuation analysis for Variable Annuity blocks
- Review and analyze model outputs reserve movements earnings results and sensitivities
- Support GAAP Statutory Tax and other actuarial balance reporting
- Partner cross-functionally with modeling finance accounting data and controls teams
- Manage develop and support a small actuarial team
- Help maintain and improve reporting processes controls and analytical frameworks
- Support audits regulatory requests and recurring close/reporting cycles
Ideal background
- FSA designation
- Actuarial experience within life insurance annuities or related insurance products
- Meaningful and recent Variable Annuity experience required
- Strong understanding of valuation reserves GAAP STAT and actuarial financial reporting
- Experience with VA reporting valuation modeling or pricing will be considered
- Prior people management or team leadership experience
- Strong Excel skills; database experience is helpful
- Python MG-Triton / Triton or other actuarial systems experience is a plus but not required
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner across actuarial finance accounting and modeling teams
Compensation
- Base salary with some flexibility for the right candidate
- Equity component expected at this level
- Total package up to approximately $240K
