Our client is seeking an Entry-level AI Engineer to join their high-impact IT this role you will be part of a team delivering mature and safe AI building blocks-such as expert chatbots-designed to automate critical conversations within the global Group and with its international partners.

This position is unique for an entry-level role focusing heavily on demand shaping and business ownership.

You will work under direct supervision to ensure that every AI use case translates into concrete business value bridging the gap between business reality and platform execution.

Technical Excellence & Business Ownership

• Demand Shaping: Actively shape AI demand rather than passively receiving it pushing back on low-value or unclear requests.
• Value Representation: Represent the value outcomes and necessary trade-offs for AI initiatives to stakeholders.
• KPI Definition: Define and track outcome KPIs such as adoption efficiency and quality for AI use cases.
• Governance: Run business stream governance and maintain a business-facing view of the backlog.

• Location: Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Home Office Rotation.
• Role Group: DevOps Role Name: Data Science and Engineering.
• Level: Entry 2-4 years experience
• Work Arrangement: 1960 hours per 12-month period with remote and on-site flexibility.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Relevant IT Business or Engineering degree.
• Knowledge Base: Basic job knowledge obtained through formal education with limited practical experience.
• Cloud Fundamentals: Foundational knowledge of cloud environments (e.g. AWS Cloud Practitioner).
• Agile Mindset: Understanding of the Agile Working Model; certifications like Scrum Product Owner or Scrum Master are an advantage.

Essential Skills

• Prioritization: Own the business prioritization process to sequence initiatives for maximum impact.
• Strategic Translation: Translate AI strategy into concrete business epics.
• Communication: Ability to convey information clearly and obtain requirements from others.
• Reuse Focus: Ensure the reuse of existing building blocks over creating bespoke solutions whenever possible.

• Stakeholder Management: Experience in setting expectations and serving as the primary interface between business stakeholders and platform tech leads.
