A reputable engineering company specialising in mining and mineral processing projects is seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join their technical team. This role is centred on the mechanical design of mining plants and associated infrastructure covering equipment design plant layouts and detailed engineering calculations from concept through to implementation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical design background be confident in performing detailed calculations and have the ability to design and integrate all components of a mining plant in line with industry standards and practical site requirements.

- Mechanical design of mining and mineral processing plant components
- Development of complete mining plant layouts and general arrangement drawings
- Engineering calculations to support mechanical designs and equipment selection
- Design and integration of plant systems including structural interfaces and material handling equipment
- Design reviews and technical problem-solving
- Liaison with fabrication production and project teams to ensure design feasibility and constructability
- BEng / BSc Mechanical Engineering qualification
- Proven mechanical design experience within mining or heavy industrial plants
- Strong capability in engineering calculations and design verification
- Ability to design complete mining plants and plant layouts
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- High attention to detail
- Practical and solutions-focused mindset
- Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Comfortable working in mining and industrial project environments
