Job Summary

Football Queensland is driving the growth and professionalism of football across the state through a unified high-performance competition system. We are seeking an Officer Community Competitions to help deliver the operational excellence that underpins football at every level in Queensland.

This role sits at the heart of the game ensuring competitions run with precision integrity and consistency across all regions supporting the performance environment that allows players clubs referees and communities to thrive.

About the Role

As part of the Competitions Team you will play a key role in the delivery of Football Queenslands community competition structure. Youll operate in a fast-paced performance-driven environment where accuracy responsiveness and stakeholder management directly impacts the quality of football experiences statewide.

Working closely with clubs referees and internal departments you will help ensure competitions are delivered consistently and professionally in alignment with FQs Anytime Anywhere Strategic Plan ().

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end administration of community competitions across Queensland
  • Manage fixtures results ladders and competition integrity with precision and accuracy
  • Support the delivery of carnivals finals series and major competition events
  • Ensure compliance with competition regulations policies and statutes
  • Collaborate closely with the Referees department to ensure match delivery standards are met
  • Resolve competition disputes efficiently escalating high-risk matters appropriately
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with clubs volunteers and stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement of competition systems and operational processes
  • Contribute to matchday operations including major events such as finals and carnivals (statewide travel may be required)

About You

You are highly organised calm under pressure and motivated by delivering excellence in a structured performance-oriented environment. You understand that competition integrity and operational precision are fundamental to the game.

You bring:

  • Strong communication skills and professional stakeholder management capability
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a fast-moving environment
  • Confidence working with digital systems and competition management platforms
  • A proactive solution-focused mindset with sound decision-making ability
  • Strong customer service approach balanced with regulatory awareness
  • Understanding of football competitions and terminology (highly regarded)
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • A valid Blue Card

Desirable Experience

  • Background in sports administration elite sport or competition operations
  • Experience working with community clubs volunteers or sporting organisations
  • Tertiary qualifications in Sports Management Business or related field
  • Familiarity with football pathways competitions or talent systems in QueenslandQualifications in Business Sports Management or a related field
