Our client is an established accounting and auditing firm with a strong reputation for delivering reliable financial and advisory services to a diverse client base. Operating in a professional and client-focused environment the firm provides exposure to a wide range of industries and financial disciplines.

They are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients delivering high-quality accounting tax and payroll services with exposure to assurance work.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Prepare annual financial statements for trusts companies and sole proprietors
Perform monthly bookkeeping and processing on Xero
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Manage SARS eFiling for a portfolio of clients
Prepare and submit VAT PAYE and income tax returns
Liaise with SARS on queries and submissions
Process payroll and ensure statutory compliance (PAYE UIF SDL)
Assist with basic audit and independent review work
Prepare working papers and supporting documentation
Communicate with clients and resolve queries
Build and maintain strong client relationships

Requirements

Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles (essential)
Relevant accounting qualification (completed or well progressed)
Experience within an accounting or auditing firm
Working knowledge of Xero (advantageous)
Strong understanding of SARS eFiling and tax submissions
