Job Summary:
The EngineerIII Railroad Structural Engineer develops extensiveknowledgeandskillsin thedesign and analysis ofRailroad Structures including but not limited to railroadbridgesretainingwallsandshoring. This role involves evaluating selecting and applyingstandard techniquesprocedures andcriteriato perform tasks or sequences of tasks forconventional projectswith minimal complexity. The positionrequires usingjudgmentto adapt methods fornon-routine aspectsof assignments and working onsmall projectsor portions oflarger projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform moderate design tasksorlead review tasks
- Prepare portions of project documentsorprovide markupsfor reviewed documents
- Edit or review specifications
- Conduct researchandinvestigations
- Work independentlyon tasks and usediscretionto address concerns beforecontacting the client
- Other dutiesas assigned orrequiredto meetbusiness needs
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Experience designing per the AREMAmanual for Railway Engineering
- Proficiencywithelectronic communication includingemailandtext and standard office applications ( Office Suite).
- Mathcadproficiencya plus
- Basicoralandwritten communication skills.
- Ability tointeracteffectively with other staff members.
- Spanish language a plus
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degreeinengineeringfrom an ABET/EAC accredited program.
- 3 yearsof prior experiencerequired.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience producingdrawingswithCAD software.
Additional Qualifications:
Engineer in Training (EIT)certification.
