Pay Band A Duties and Responsibilities

- Under the direction of the Makai Campus Coordinator position will assist in overseeing the daily operations maintenance and event management of Les Murakami Baseball Stadium (LMS) and other on-campus athletic facilities and venues as assigned. Ensures facilities are safe compliant and fully functional to support athletic and non-athletic events.
- *Assists with overseeing daily operations of LMS and assigned facilities and venues including maintenance repairs equipment upkeep and overall facility readiness.
- *Ensures compliance with health safety accessibility NCAA University and State of Hawaii regulations.
- *Assists with managing preventative maintenance programs and addresses facility-related issues and emergencies as they arise.
- *Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies; determines purchasing needs and ensures proper storage and upkeep.
- *Assists with overseeing on-site practice/event/game day management for athletic and non-athletic events at LMS and assigned facilities and venues.
- *Assists with planning and executing all logistical aspects of events including scheduling setup breakdown equipment needs staffing and operations.
- *Assists with coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution including University officials coaches departments and vendors.
- Works weekends holidays and nights as dictated by athletic and non-athletic events and to various geographical locations to facilitate meetings events and practices.
- *Assists with developing and implementing implements ingress/egress and crowd control plans; creates and enforces emergency and safety procedures.
- *Assists with managing pre- and post-event processes including cost estimates contracts and settlements.
- *Coordinates facility usage schedules for events practices and other activities.
- *Communicates policies and procedures to all facility users including NCAA University and State regulations.
- *Serves as the point of contact for usage coordination and event-related concerns.
- *Recruits trains schedules and evaluates event and facility support staff including student assistants casual hires and volunteers.
- *Ensures proper staffing for daily operations and events.
- Assists with developing and managing budgets related to operations staffing equipment and events.
- Assists with managing contracts and procurement related to facility and event needs.
- *Responsible for performing the duties of a Campus Security Authority as defined by University policy and federal law with regards to the Clery Act.
- *Maintains confidentiality to include but not limited to information files and records that the incumbent may obtain or possess in accordance with federal and state laws and University of Hawaii policies.
- *Maintains collaborative working relationships with administrators and coaches in the department other college offices and appropriate relationships with members of the media donors and other individuals interested in the Athletics Department.
- *Knows recognizes and complies with the laws policies rules and regulations governing the University of Hawaii and its employees and the rules of the NCAA and affiliated conferences as now constituted or as may be amended in the future. Immediately advises the Director of Athletics or designee if there are reasonable cause to believe violations whether by employees or students have occurred or will occur.

Pay Band A Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business administration sports administration facility administration education arts and sciences liberal arts social sciences or related field and one (1) year of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for facility management and/or event operations; or equivalent education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
- Functional knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of facility management and events planning demonstrated by knowledge understanding and ability to apply concepts terminology.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of principles theories federal and state laws rules regulations and systems associated with facility management and events planning.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize problems identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of facility management and events planning.
- Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation write reports and procedures and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team members and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines with limited resources and multiple competing priorities.
- Ability to work after business hours including nights weekends and/or holidays.
- Ability to frequently bend reach lift push and pull up to 50 pounds (with or without assistance).
