Position Summary:
Audubons EagleWatch program is one of the largest community science programs in the state monitoring over 1300 Bald Eagle nests in Florida by 700 volunteers. This seasonal position is designed to provide support and assistance to the EagleWatch Program Manager with a focus on database quality control and data analysis. They will be expected to maintain good communications within other departments of the Center Audubon staff and volunteers in addition to the general public to actively help promote the Centers programs and mission of caring for Floridas raptors.
This is a part time seasonal position (5 months) from June 8 2026 - October 31 2026 to provide support during the data analysis and volunteer training segment of the EagleWatch season.
This role is classified as hybrid candidates must be within commuting distance from the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey in Maitland FL.
Length of Assignment: June 8 2026 - October 31 2026 (22 weeks)
Hours: 25 hrs./week
Location: Audubons Center for Birds of Prey in Maitland FL.
Compensation:
$19.00 / hour
Additional Job Description
Essential Functions
Validate and edit volunteer and nest data submitted to the EagleWatch GIS database and compile monthly and yearly reports.
Help with the end-of-year data compilation/summary (productivity new nests nests lost impacts takes etc.) and transition to the next season.
Provide QA/QC data analysis for volunteer data submissions.
Assist in gathering information and program statistics for grant reports associated with eagle education and EagleWatch programs.
Assist new volunteers through all aspects of the onboarding process for Audubons EagleWatch program.
Maintains and fosters culture of safety.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors degree or related work experience in related fields (GIS biology natural sciences).
Experience with data analysis for conservation. General knowledge of Bald Eagles and behavior preferred.
Flexibility and willingness to prioritize projects as directed by supervisor.
Strong written and verbal communication skills excellent organization and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and effectively with limited resources. Must be able to multi-task and provide remote support to volunteers in the field.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Proficient with ArcGIS.
Valid drivers license.
Demonstrated respect for wildlife and the natural environment. Experience fostering inclusive and collaborative work environments is valued.
