GENERALPURPOSE
Coordinatesthe day-to-day operation of City recreation programs.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Worksunder the general supervision of the Community Services Coordinator
SUPERVISIONEXERCISED
Mayprovide general supervision to part-time and volunteer personnel.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
Coordinatesrecreation programs
Assurespositive city image in public relations matters
Controlsuse of recreation equipment
Assistswith Old Glory Days celebration
Regular and predictable attendance
Otherduties as assigned
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
1. Education and Experience:
A. Two (2) years of progressively responsible experienceperforming above or related duties;
B. Or an equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.
2. Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Some knowledge of the methods andtechniques of developing and operating recreation programs; rules andregulations of a variety of sports and recreational activities; the operationof personal computers and various software applications including spreadsheets word processing etc.
Ability to establish and maintaineffective working relationships with employees various age groups otherorganizations and the public; communicate effectively verbally and inwriting.
3. Special Qualifications
Possession of a valid driverslicense is desirable.
4. WorkEnvironment:
Incumbentof the position performs in a typical office setting and outside setting. Tasks require variety of physical activitiesnot generally involving muscular strain such as walking standing stoopingsitting reaching lifting. Talkinghearing and seeing essential to effective performance of essentialfunctions. Common eye hand fingerdexterity exists. Mental applicationutilizes memory for details verbal instructions emotional stabilitydiscriminating thinking and creative problem solving. Frequent local travel required in normalcourse of job performance.
