Job Summary
SUMMARY
Ouzinkie Native Corporation is seeking a Corporate Events Planner responsible for planning organizing and executing shareholder engagement activities including the Annual Meeting of Shareholders informational meetings and cultural gatherings. This role often involves direct communication with shareholders managing logistics for in-person and virtual events and coordinating with departments to deliver benefits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Logistics Management: Everything in an event from the seating to the audio/visual equipment must be set up in a practical and useful manner for the guests. To accomplish this the Corporate Events Planner must possess a degree of skill in logistics to properly plan the details and anticipate potential problems that may arise. Plan and oversee all details of events including venue layout catering transportation AV equipment promotional materials special needs requirements printing event security and decorations.
- Vendor and Talent Coordination: Research select and manage relationships with vendors (caterers decorators) and talent (musicians speakers).
- Budget Management: Maintain and adhere to event budgets ensuring profitability or cost-efficiency.
- On-site Supervision: Manage onsite set-up tear-down and day-of operations to resolve issues and ensure smooth execution.
- Marketing and Promotion: Assist in creating marketing materials and tracking attendee RSVPs.
- Administration: Manage invitations guest lists event materials volunteers and post-event surveys.
- Flexibility: Ability to work on weekends or evenings as required by the event schedule.
- Cultural Competence: A strong understanding of Alaska Native culture values and the ANCSA landscape is required.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Project Management Experience
- Oversee events from the initial concept to final delivery based on the established goals deadlines and budget with cross-functional collaboration.
- Vendor management site selection staff coordination risk management and on-site troubleshooting.
- Proven experience in event planning coordination or administrative roles.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom).
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Exceptional organizational time-management and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
EDUCATION
Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management Business Administration Marketing Communications or Public Relations preferred (or equivalent work experience). High School Diploma or GED required.
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time. Ability to work on weekends or evenings as required by the event schedule.
DRIVING REQUIREMENT
- Must have or be able to attain a valid state drivers license and be insurable on the companys automobile insurance policy.
- Driving may be required when traveling and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.
TRAVEL
Travel up to 50% of the time may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent sitting using hands/fingers handling reaching with hands and arms talking hearing and seeing up close at a distance along the periphery with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; occasional walking or standing occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Some of the work is performed in a professional office setting and in some off-site in remote locations during project transitioning with a wide variety of people in different functions personalities and abilities. Physical and mental ability to travel in small aircraft by ferry and small watercraft in extreme weather is necessary.
