Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:
Provide differentiated reading instruction through small group work individualized intervention and push-in classroom support.
Design and implement structured literacy instruction
Integrate multiple instructional approaches including programs such as BrainSpring & Word Revelation to support decoding fluency and comprehension across grade levels.
Assess student literacy needs using a variety of tools including diagnostic and progress-monitoring assessments.
Use comprehensive data (decoding fluency comprehension and benchmark assessments such as STAR) to inform instruction and monitor student growth.
Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and the student support coordinator to plan implement and adjust instruction to meet diverse student needs.
Communicate effectively and consistently with families and teachers regarding student progress and strategies for support at home.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and intervention outcomes.
Support a positive inclusive and faith-centered learning environment.
Participate in faculty meetings professional development and school events as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Education Reading or a related field (Masters degree or Reading Specialist certification preferred).
Training in an Orton-Gillingham-based program or similar structured literacy approach preferred.
Training in Brainspring Phonics First and Word Revelation.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Science of Reading.
Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students in literacy instruction.
Practicing Catholic or a willingness to support and uphold the mission and values of Catholic education.
Desired Skills and Dispositions:
Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students families and colleagues.
Willingness to be trained in additional literacy programs including Word Revelation BrainSpring Phonics First and to thoughtfully integrate multiple approaches to meet student needs.
Ability to analyze and apply multiple sources of student data to drive instructional decisions.
Proactive in achieving goals.
Flexible and adaptable in meeting the evolving needs of students and classrooms.
Utilizes creativity adaptability and initiative to find solutions.
Patient joyful and nurturing in interactions with students.
