JOB SUMMARY
This position serves as a key communicator and facilitator of the development execution and measurement of success for the overall marketing and PR efforts in support of The Lerner Theatre audience growth and facility development. This position will assist with the increase to overall Lerner Theatre brand exposure engagement and opportunity through unified collaboration with all downtown assets ensuring that The Lerner Theatre is valued as a complete destination.
PRINCIPAL AND OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute and assist with the overall marketing strategy branding and execution of plans for The Lerner and Friends of The Lerner brands including downtown events and Lerner shows as requested. This includes analysis of the effectiveness of marketing efforts and results across all areas of responsibility.
- Provide input in the creation and execution of creative marketing and promotional plans and media buys with local and regional media partners including negotiation of rates and implementation of paid and trade advertising schedules.
- Research and evaluate new local and regional marketing opportunities in support of Lerner and Friends of The Lerner branding and event or show-specific needs.
- Coordinate and communicate information with third-party marketing teams including public relations social media and advertising agencies supporting The Lerner.
- Oversee all third-party marketing invoices coordinate payments and maintain detailed financial records.
- Work with development teams and alliances to create and market new products and events related to assigned responsibilities.
- Assist Friends of The Lerner with fundraising and development distributions including facilitation of collaborative materials participation in donor events and increasing awareness of giving opportunities.
- Develop and manage media relationships across multiple media distribution channels to maximize value and results.
- Ensure effective branded marketing communications including the organizations websites print communications development efforts and advertising.
- Collaborate with team members and research proven tactics to position the organization for immediate success long-term growth and achievement of established goals.
- Perform special event work related to Lerner and downtown event activity as required including setup and event management. This may include nights and weekends.
- Manage and oversee all electronic and social media platforms using available resources.
- Develop and maintain marketing budgets tracking requirements purchase orders and other marketing-related items across multiple budgets managed by this position.
- Assist in facilitation and support of additional projects as requested.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Four-year degree in Marketing or Communications or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Minimum of two years of marketing or communications experience in an active leadership or management role.
- Development experience preferred.

- Familiarity with marketing tools including PR written communication website and social media development market research product packaging Microsoft and Adobe products visual communication software and creative services.
- Experience managing external PR and communication consulting contractors.
- Experience in the entertainment or venue industry is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a fast-paced largely volunteer-supported environment.
- A large percentage of the workload is deadline-sensitive.

- The City of Elkhart is a Drug Free Workplace.
