GGL Portfolio Manager
Job Summary
SUMMARY
The Portfolio Manager is an individual contributor role within the Government Guaranteed Lending Portfolio Management team and is responsible for the ongoing monitoring credit oversight and servicing execution of an assigned portfolio of GGL borrowers. The role is focused on maintaining credit quality regulatory compliance and consistent portfolio management execution throughout the life of the loan.
The Portfolio Manager is an individual contributor role within the Government Guaranteed Lending Portfolio Management team and is responsible for the ongoing monitoring credit oversight and servicing execution of an assigned portfolio of GGL borrowers. The role is focused on maintaining credit quality regulatory compliance and consistent portfolio management execution throughout the life of the loan.
The Portfolio Manager works closely with Relationship Management Underwriting Credit Servicing and the Special Assets Group (SAG) to support effective risk management timely borrower followup and adherence to Bank and SBA requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HandsOn Portfolio Management
- Maintains direct responsibility for an assigned portfolio of GGL borrowers.
- Performs ongoing credit monitoring financial analysis covenant tracking and borrower communication.
- Manages renewals modifications waivers and other portfolio actions in accordance with Bank and SBA requirements.
- Handles complex higherrisk or highertouch borrower relationships as assigned.
- Ensures timely collection of required financial information and documentation.
Portfolio Quality & Risk Management
- Identifies emerging credit risks borrower performance concerns and documentation gaps within the assigned portfolio.
- Escalates material credit documentation or compliance issues to management consistent with Bank guidelines.
- Provides input regarding portfolio trends concentrations and potential risk drivers based on portfolio observations.
Problem Loan Identification & SAG Coordination
- Works closely with the Special Assets Group (SAG) on watchlist credits problem loans and deteriorating borrower relationships.
- Assists in identifying loans that meet criteria for heightened monitoring or transfer to SAG.
- Supports a smooth handoff process by coordinating documentation analysis and borrower history as needed.
- Coordinates with SAG Underwriting and Credit to ensure timely escalation and appropriate risk management actions.
Process Tools & Execution
- Adheres to established PM processes procedures templates and reporting tools.
- Applies policy credit guidance and regulatory requirements to daytoday portfolio management activities.
- Promotes consistent documentation monitoring and risk management standards within assigned responsibilities.
CrossFunctional Coordination
- Coordinates with Portfolio Management peers Underwriting Sales Credit Servicing and SAG to resolve borrower or loanrelated issues.
- Escalates issues that may impact borrower relationships credit quality compliance or service levels.
- Supports efficient execution and communication across functions involved in portfolio management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 35 years of experience in SBA portfolio management credit administration or a related banking function.
Strong understanding of SBA 7(a) and/or 504 loan programs and portfolio management requirements.
Strong intermediate knowledge of accounting principles tax return analysis and analytical interpretation of balance sheet and income statement analysis and cash flow.
Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and other financial analysis software programs.
Intermediate working knowledge of loan documentation.
Must be able to handle a strong volume of work flow from various sources.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all bank and client information.
Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
