TITLE: PRESCHOOL COORDINATOR
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Kentucky teaching certification in IECE or Special Education with three years of successful experience in Early Childhood Education.
REPORT TO/EVALUATED BY: Principal
LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: 187 days per year
BASIC FUNCTION: To provide a quality educational program for students in Early Childhood Education in order to ensure they will derive the greatest benefit from their educational experience. Supervise and coordinate the direction of early childhood activities and programs.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
1. Oversee the Identification of 3 & 4 year old children who meet eligibility requirements for early childhood intervention.
2. Coordinate district-wide screening for children with possible delays in speech language cognitive motor social or adaptive skills.
3. Organize screening services upon request throughout the school year and summer.
4. Keep roster of early childhood students updated.
5. Chair ARCs involving referrals and/or possible early childhood services.
6. Keep complete and accurate records and submitted required information according to specified timelines.
7. Assist preschool teachers in maintaining accurate due process folders and documentation as required by special education regulations and procedures.
8. Assist in planning transportation arrangements for students with disabilities.
9. Ensure the program is in compliance with regulations and standards.
10. Conduct professional learning with preschool personnel as related to services for students with disabilities
11. Coordinate services when needed with Head Start First Steps private schools and other outside agencies.
12. Attend district local and state training as needed to complete job requirements.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
