Job Summary

CASPA SERVICES LTD POSITION VACANCY Therapeutic Care Worker Night Shift Work

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking Therapeutic Care Workers experienced in delivering trauma-informed therapeutic care to (Youth) children young people and/or families to join CASPAs Therapeutic Residential Care Team on a part time basis supporting the exciting expansion of services throughout Coffs Harbour.

Please be aware that this role is scheduled on a night shift basis requiring consistent availability across a fortnightly rotating roster inclusive of week night and weekend night shifts.

This position requires passion and skills in providing activities routines and residential supports that nurture the development of emotional regulation problem solving skills and social competencies to inspire positive growth in the lives of children young people and families associated with CASPAs leading services.

Required Qualifications

Diploma in Community Services or related diploma. For those who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander a qualification is desirable but experience and willingness to participate in training is acceptable. For candidates who do not hold the essential qualification willingness to obtain and proof of enrolment will be required

Key Responsibilities

  • Form and maintain professional nurturing relationships with children and young people by building trust through visible interest and active engagement
  • Act as an appropriate adult role model seeking to engage young people in purposeful activities aimed at developing life skills and self-worth
  • Support the involvement of family and where applicable facilitate family visits/connections and the promotion of positive family relationships with children and young people to suit individual needs
  • Promote and encourage positive relationships with peers and other persons significant to the child/young person
  • Assist the child/young person to participate as fully as possible in making decisions about the activities undertaken
  • Demonstrate an empathic understanding of complex trauma incorporating this understanding into everyday interactions as well as responding to pain-based behaviour in a sensitive and non-punitive way.
