Shift Timing: 6:45 PM 6:45 AM
Position Overview
A leading acute care facility is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Surgical Unit team for a 13-week assignment. The RN will provide high-quality care to adult post-surgical patients during night shifts while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure safe effective and patient-centered outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to post-surgical and medical-surgical patients
- Monitor patient conditions vital signs and recovery progress
- Administer medications treatments and IV therapies as prescribed
- Accurately assess document and update patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians therapists case managers and support staff to coordinate care plans
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans recovery expectations and discharge instructions
- Respond promptly and effectively to changes in patient condition or emergencies
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies patient safety standards and infection control procedures
Patient Population
- General surgical patients
- Joint replacement surgeries
- Hip surgeries
- Neck and spine/back surgeries
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Unit or Medical-Surgical experience
- Recent experience caring for post-operative surgical patients required
- Strong assessment communication and critical thinking skills
- Current BLS certification required
