Description
The City of Richmond Department of Information Technology has a position open for one Production II Mailroom technical support representative in the City of Richmond Printing Services office. This position requires prior work experience in the Copy Center/Mail Room industry.
Duties include but are not limited to
The Department of Information Technology seeks a Mailroom/ Office Equipment Operator. The Production II Mailroom technical support representatives provide support for the Citys Mailing services duties include:
- Collects coordinates and organizes all incoming and outgoing mail. Ensures the timely and accurate collection and delivery of mail to all applicable locations.
- Ensures all recorded special delivery and courier items are delivered documented and appropriate signatures received.
- Opens stamps sorts and batches all incoming paper claims. Prepares batches for courier pick-up. Ensures courier box is complete secure and timely. Follows paper claim process.
- Transports mail supplies documents and records to and from various off-site locations as required.
- Orders and delivers supplies as requested and maintains adequate supply levels in common areas. Maintains and documents consistent inventory of the City of Richmond required letterhead envelopes check paper etc.
- Be familiar with shipping UPS and FedEx procedures
- Record data of shipping and mail volumes daily
- Lift up to 30lbs bending sorting and twisting
- Solid Customer service skills: Friendly attitude timely dependable detail-oriented and professional
Additional Copy Center Responsibilities:
- Commitment to providing high-quality copy and print production
- Demonstrate proficiency in explaining all products services turnaround times delivery schedules and guarantees to the clients
- Maintain all records and compliance on security and confidentiality of client materials
- Maintains a facility that is always organized and meets tour quality standards
- Comply with the City of Richmond policy that any information seen during the copy process is strictly confidential and is never to leave the support center and never to be talked about with anyone
- Display high ethical standard integrity work ethic and loyalty
- Binding Padding Cutting Drilling
- Copying and Printing of documents
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage projects to completion
Qualifications Special Certifications and Licenses
To perform this position successfully an individual must be able to meet each essential duty and responsibility to a satisfactory level. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and/or experience required. - Shows strong professional and communications skills for dealing with the USPS and other employees within the facility.

- Ability to respond to and deal with a range of ad hoc queries/requests.
- Ability to always operate with discretion and confidentiality.
- Maintains flexibility in approach and adjusts actions when appropriate.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

- Working knowledge of computer applications spreadsheets word processing for data entry and reordering supplies as necessary.
- Ability to follow directions from the manager.
- Ability to accept constructive criticism.
- Ability to show up to work on time as scheduled.
- Ability to physically stand bend squat and lift 25 to 30 pounds
