Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time permanent classified Maintenance Custodian in the Facilities department. This position will be located primarily on Clark Colleges Boschma Farms site in Ridgefield WA and be responsible for performing custodial work. The typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 4am to 12:30pm. This position may work occasional evening or weekend shifts. This position will report to the Custodial Services Manager.

Position Responsibilities
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine custodial and light maintenance duties to maintain a clean safe and functional campus environment.
- Clean and sanitize classrooms offices restrooms common areas and entryways; sweeping mopping vacuuming and floor care; collecting and disposing of trash and recycling; and restocking custodial supplies.
- Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks including repairing plumbing electrical or structural components replacing light bulbs and reporting facility issues.
- Assist with basic repairs.
- Building opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor building conditions and report concerns.
- Support campus events with set up and reset.
- Operate and maintain custodial equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with facilities staff to support daily campus operations.
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s) and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience in custodial building maintenance or facility services work.
- Basic knowledge of custodial cleaning methods equipment and safe chemical handling procedures.
- Experience performing routine building maintenance and minor repairs.
- Must possess a current drivers license and auto insurance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and proper use of chemicals and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
JOB READINESS/WORKING CONDITIONS:- Knowledge of safety practices including proper chemical handling and workplace safety procedures.
- Strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with campus staff students and visitors.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to operate custodial equipment such as floor machines vacuums and other cleaning tools.
- Ability to properly use and operate power equipment after obtaining a certification card for each piece.
- Ability to read write and speak English.
- Ability to lift carry push and pull equipment and supplies and perform physical tasks associated with custodial work.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions and diagrams.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
- Willingness to work weekends if needed.
- Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically culturally and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
- The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.

SALARY/BENEFITS:Salary Range:$3167-$4194/month Step A-M (commensurate with qualifications and experience) Range: 36 Code: 678H
Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
