Retail Assistant, Inventory and Merchandising
Job Summary
Reporting to the Gift Shop Operations Lead the Inventory and Merchandising Assistant ensures products are accurately received organized and attractively merchandised. Contributes to creating a welcoming and efficient retail environment that enhances shopping experience for patients visitors volunteers and staff and drives profitability for the hospital. This role helps ensure the Gift Shop and Convenience operates smoothly and remains a welcoming and convenient place to shop within the hospital.
Qualifications :
- Grade 12 education/diploma or equivalent along with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant retail experience.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact respectfully with patients visitors volunteers and staff.
- Experience with stocking merchandising and inventory handling including receiving and organizing a wide range of products.
- Ability to operate a pointofsale system and handle routine cash transactions.
- Excellent attention to detail for pricing labeling and maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Comfortable working independently managing shifting priorities and supporting Volunteers as needed.
- Physical ability to lift and move merchandise restock shelves and maintain organized storage areas.
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment is considered an asset.
Additional Information :
Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various rotating 7.5 hour shifts between 08:30 - 18:00 (hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $23.072 to $28.840 per hour
