Job Summary
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure manufacturing efforts are aligned with the overall strategic direction of the organization.
- Audit the various production processes periodically throughout the day to ensure quality standards are being met.
- Develop and maintain reports reflecting the operational performance of the department in relation to yields efficiencies and quality.
- Obtain review and analyze the data from performance reports determine the accuracy of the reports and then determine the efficiency and productivity of the employees. Provide recommendations for immediate process or performance corrections based on reports.
- Monitor for and identify manufacturing defects problems inconsistencies and process fluctuations outside the normal daily expectations. Participate in troubleshooting activities providing timely recommendations or solutions to correct deficiencies based on reports and observations.
- Partner with employees Lab Team Leads and Management to implement the necessary adjustments or corrective actions including the retraining of employees to meet production objectives.
- Ensure that staff resources are allocated appropriately to maintain continuity in workflow thus enabling the production team to achieve performance and quality standards.
- Participate in production activities as necessary to help achieve the daily production requirements which includes ensuring all orders are processed and shipped by appropriate deadlines to meet customers expectations and requirements.
- Supervise and participate as necessary in the daily start up calibration and preparation of all production process equipment and inspection instruments
- Ensure compliance with department SOPs and process work instructions.
- Monitor and evaluate complaints (returns) and determine if any corrective and preventive action is required.
- Monitor and screen work orders for correct manufacturing information collaborating with Customer Service to correct work order errors.
- Ensure employees are trained and comply with related policies and procedures for both the department and the company.
- Plan and schedule regular rotation of all qualified team members through the various production processes to maintain individual skill set competencies.
- Schedule and hold team meetings to ensure employees are informed of information regarding company and department performance goals updates activities and programs and to promote industry information within the team and organization.
- Direct coach mentor and monitor the team through routine one-on-one meetings to discuss individual performance goals and individual development and by administering performance appraisals.
- Foster open communication and a collaborative environment with team members and management within the manufacturing operations to carry out key objectives and encourage participation in discussions relating to any issues.
- Interact with employees to monitor and drive efficiencies yields and quality standards to a level of achieving or exceeding the customers expectation and the medical device industry standards.
- Review investigate and document performance and behavior deficiencies including attendance and policy/rule infractions consulting with the Manager and HR on disciplinary actions.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout the production process.
- Follow and uphold all OSHA and Company safety guidelines policies and regulations. Report all safety hazards or incidents to Management.
- Partner with Facilities and Manufacturing Management to resolve safety issues including the maintenance and repair of equipment as needed to ensure safe and operational status.
- Partner with the Manager to provide pertinent and specific information to include labor requirements manufacturing supplies and inventory levels (with responsibility for ordering replenishment inventory) and other items that may impact the budget.
- Responsible for review correction and approval of timecards along with the appropriate allocation of sick and vacation time.
- Ability to work extended hours as business needs dictate.

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum three (3) years experience in manufacturing / optical manufacturing
- At least one (1) year experience in a Supervisory or Team Lead position
- General PC applications and MS Office applications required
- Associates degree in related field

The anticipated base pay range for this position is 60K- 68K
This represents the good-faith estimate of the compensation range at the time of posting.
Actual pay will be based on job-related factors which may include:

- Applicable minimum wage laws
This position may also be eligible for a bonus and/or commission plan subject to the terms of the applicable plan.
