Senior Originator – Residential Development Finance
Job Summary

With strong institutional backing the business benefits from consistent access to capital enabling it to support a wide range of residential-led projects across the UK.
The firm has builta strong reputationfor its speed of execution transparency and long-term client relationships. Over the past 12 months it has deployedin excess of350mdemonstratingboth its operational capability and its commitment to supporting the UK housebuilding sector.
The loan book is heavily weighted towards residential development with a broad range of projects including housing schemes apartment developments and select specialist residential assets such as retirement living and social housing. While the business does consider mixed-use schemes these are typicallyresidential-led.
Due to continued growth and increasing deal flow the business is now looking to strengthen its origination team. This hire will play a key role in driving new lending opportunities and contributing to the firms ambitious growth plans.
Role Overview
This role will focus on originating and structuring new development finance opportunities primarily within the residential sector. The successful candidate willbe responsible forbuilding andmaintainingrelationships with SME housebuilders and property developers with the aim of generating a consistent pipeline of high-quality transactions.
You will work closely with internal credit and execution teams to ensure deals are structured effectively and progressed efficiently through to completion. Externally youwill engage with borrowers brokers and industry professionals to build a strong network and drive new business.
The role offers a high degree of autonomy allowing you toleverageyour existing network whilebenefitingfrom the support of an established platform. You will be expected to take ownership of deals frominitialorigination through to completion.
Given the nature of the lending book the role willpredominantly focuson residential development transactions including housing schemes apartment blocks and some specialist residential projects.
Responsibilities
Originate and structure development finance transactions (1m30m)
Build and maintain relationships with developers investors and intermediaries
Generate and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities
Assess opportunities and present deals internally
Work closely with credit and execution teams to progress transactions
Negotiate commercial terms with borrowers and brokers
Maintain a strong understanding of market trends and competitor activity
Represent the business at industry events and networking opportunities
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a driven and commercially astute originator with a strongtrack recordin development finance. You will be confident in building relationships proactive in generating opportunities and capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy.
Proven experience in development finance origination
Strong track record within residential development lending
Experience working with SME developers / housebuilders
Cradle to graveexperience is essential
Strong network within the property development market
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
Commercially minded with strong deal structuring capability
Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team
On Offer
The role offers a competitive base salary ranging from 90k-120k depending on experience. Higher offers may be considered for exceptional candidates with a strongtrack record.
In addition there is a highly attractive bonus structure linked directly to deal revenuewhichprovides significant earning potential.
