Electrical Project ManagerEstimator

IMA is seeking an Electrical Project Manager/Estimator to expand on our already robust in-house capabilities in the industrial and heavy commercial sectors.

Project Types: Industrial industrial maintenance healthcare pharmaceutical manufacturing data centers and commercial type projects.

ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• TEAM MANAGEMENT- This individual will be responsible for managing and growing an electrical install team (with strong support from existing technicians) with participation in hiring and leading technicians.
• Account Management- Lead the efforts to maintain long-term owner direct relationships with new and assigned key accounts.
• Estimating- Lead/assist with preconstruction activities required to backlog future work and build estimates with a thorough understanding of the cost to complete work.
• Purchasing- Issues purchase orders for equipment materials and subcontractors in a timely manner that does not jeopardize the project schedule.
• Scheduling- Develops a plan for what is to be done what resources are required and when; coordinates with field superintendents / the client / general contractors / subcontractors to meet timetables for completion of work. Ensure subcontractors have been scheduled to complete their activities as required by the scope of work.
• Manpower management Works with trade superintendents to ensure that the correct number of workers and the level of expertise required for each project is provided. Keeps manpower projection sheet updated to allow field superintendents to plan their resources.
• Quality managementEnsures that labor and materials meet the specifications of the client; this would include site visits reviewing drawings and specifications as well as maintaining effective communications with the client
• Managing margins Complete and understand monthly billings monthly job cost reports and monthly manpower requirements to ensure that profit margins are maintained according to estimates
• Project closeout Prepares final as built-drawings develops operation and maintenance manuals establishes warranty dates completes punch list items and collects final billings. Reviews job costing to ensure alignment with estimate.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to effectively coordinate between electrical and other trades.
• 5 years electrical project management or general project management experience
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong work ethic
• Desire to teach assistant project managers and field employees
• Ability to multi-task responsibilities
• Computer skills to include MS Word EXCEL Project Management platforms such as Procore and ability to learn new software.
• A Journeyman or contractors license is preferred but not required
• Pass background check and drug screen
