Job Summary

Essential Functions
1. Provide Instruction in Assigned Subject Area Provide instruction to students according to the objectives of each course assigned. These courses include but are not limited to Microsoft Applications I and II. This instructor will utilize a variety of instructional strategies in the classroom that include but are not limited to lecture small groups labs for working problems and computer utilization. 2. Provide for Student Evaluation and Recordkeeping Prepare and administer evaluation instruments and maintain accurate student records on attendance achievement and progress. This includes the required assessment of submissions. 3. Remain Current in Events and Developments Related to Subject Areas Increase and improve personal teaching and subject knowledge through supplemental sources such as in-service activities conferences workshops technical updates and personal self-study. 4. Participate in Division and College Meetings and Committees Attend scheduled Business/Division/College staff meetings and serve on committees and teams including assessment and strategic planning. 5. Serve as an Academic Adviser for Students Serve as an academic adviser to approximately 60-80 students. Tasks included in this area are: assist students in selecting and registering for courses review each students file at least once per semester to update the required information on grades and courses needed for graduation and generally serve as the first line of communication between students and the college staff. Be up-to-date on Division/College policies and procedures. 6. Develop/Revise Course Curriculum and Educational Material Develop and/or revise course objectives content descriptions and instructional strategies on approved college curriculum addition the instructor will develop revise and maintain evaluation instruments classroom policies grading structures and strategies. This instructor will review evaluate and recommend textbooks for course use. Instruct students on the Use/Application of Appropriate Computer Software using textbook materials tutorials and demonstrations. Instruct students and monitor their progress on applications of computer software such as spreadsheets word processing accounting software and other appropriate business software. Currently the software used is Office 365 including Excel Word Access PowerPoint Teams SharePoint and Outlook. 7. Functions as a Member of the Business Program Team Interact with colleagues students staff and supervisors in a manner that will project a positive image of the program and the college and which promotes/facilitates institutional services such as recruitment placement and orientation as assigned. 8. Individualized Development Plan (New Instructors) Each new instructor will develop an individualized development plan in cooperation with the Vice President of Instruction. Professional Development Faculty should work with their immediate supervisor to develop an annual plan of professional development and improvement. Promote a Culture of Belonging Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students faculty members and college employees feel welcomed valued and empowered to contribute. Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment. Support the Colleges policies and programming related to access fair employment and equal opportunities for all.

Minimum Qualifications
A Master of Business Administration ( MBA ) Business Education Information Technology Instructional Technology or Adult Education or a closely related field* Two (2) years of work experience in a business setting or secondary or post-secondary teaching experience in business education. Microsoft Office Specialist ( MOS ) certification is required within one year of employment. * A Bachelors Degree in Business Business Education or a closely related business discipline may be accepted in place of a completed Masters Degree provided the applicant commits to earning a Masters Degree within two (2) years of hire. The Masters Degree must include at least 18 graduate credit hours in Business Accounting Finance Economics or a closely related business discipline.
