Job Summary

Under direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Heating Plant Operations assist in the supervision of the operation and maintenance of all Heating Plant personnel equipment and building mechanical equipment.

$47.90 per hour

Required Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Four (4) years (48 months ) of work experience in the maintenance and operation of steam and power plant equipment.
3. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience in a position comparable to the Steam and Power Plant III.
4. Valid drivers license.
5. A final candidate must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical exam. Employment is contingent on the successful result of the pre-employment physical.

Preferred Qualifications

1. One year of supervisory experience.
2. Trade School University or factory training.
3. Computer operation knowledge.
4. Ability to work with a wide variety of University personnel.
5. Ability to organize and plan.
6. Ability to resolve problems and follow-up with outcome.

Work Hours

Monday - Friday; 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

4. Visual acuity to discern basic wiring and piping color codes.

8. Must be able to work overhead on knees back or stomach for extended periods of time.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score.
