Job Summary

Psychiatrist
APsychiatristis responsibleforquality medical services to One Community Health Psychiatristis responsible forcompliance with applicable laws regulationsand policiespertaining tomedical practice clinic operationsand licensing.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for:
    • Conducting psychiatric intakes for diagnostic evaluations developing a treatment plan and prescribingappropriate psychiatricmedications.
    • providing continuity of care for your patient panel and actively reassessing andmodifyingdiagnoses and treatment plans as appropriate
    • Consistentlyprovide compassionate patientcentered careto a diverse patient population
  • Experiencemanaging patients that may have complex medical needs and ability to collaborate with their primary care providers
  • Comfortable working with patients with a history of trauma andcomorbidSUD
  • Ability to effectivelyutilizetelemedicine services when conducting telehealthvideovisits
  • Work effectively in a team-based practice with other Psychiatrists and Psychiatric NursePractitioners.
  • Responsible foraccurateandtimelydocumentation necessary for patient care and billing.
  • Responsible for assuring quality medical care delivered to all patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians psychologists social workers psychiatric nurses or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
  • Design individualized care plans using a variety of treatments.
  • Experience and comfort in prescribing regulated medications including benzodiazepines and stimulants when clinically indicated
  • Responsible for understanding and maintenance of Quality Improvement Program indicators as directed by the Leadership for themedical department.
  • Responsible for understanding andcomplying withthe Standards of Care and policies for the Medical Clinic.
  • Responsible for understanding andcomplying withthe implementation of medical clinic policies to ensureappropriate medicalfollow-up of patients and medical specialty referrals.
  • Understands and follows medical operations in compliance with applicable state and local lawsregulationsand policies.
  • Understands and monitors systems forcomplianceas necessary andtimelycommunication to Medical Leadership when issues of compliancearise andcomplieswitha corrective strategy.
  • Understands and follows policies and proceduresrelativeto medical provider scheduling schedule changes template development etc. coordinating with efforts with the Practice Manager. Promptly communicates problems and issues in these areas to the Medical Leadership.
  • Assistsother medical and generalstaffin developing and designing new clinical services asappropriate toOne Community Health patient needs.
  • Responsible for attending allappropriate meetingsas directed by the Medical Leadership.
Additional Duties
  • Participate in work groups teams taskforcesand committees to support ongoing clinic functions. Foster communication and coordination within the clinic and outside agencies byestablishingprofessional working relationships with others tofacilitatethe delivery of services to the patient.
  • This positionis responsible forreporting suspicion of child adult (including spouses) elder and dependent adult abuse as outlined in Penal Code Section 11166 Section 15630 and Section 1160
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be fullylicensedto practice in the state of California who is board certified or eligible in Psychiatry
  • Possess a DEA certificate
  • CurrentBLS/CPR Certificate
  • Licenses required for this position must be kept current valid and in good standing with the presiding entity.
Preferred Background
  • Several years of FQHC or community health center practice experience preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across a broad spectrum of backgrounds and who demonstrate inclusive thinking and interpersonal awareness help strengthen our commitment to equitable and compassionate care for all.
  • Demonstrated person-centered approach and familiarity with trauma informed systems and restorative practices
