Position Summary:
The YMCA is seeking a positive energetic Youth Karate Instructor to lead beginner and intermediate classes for children. This role focuses on teaching foundational karate skills while promoting the YMCAs core values of caring honesty respect and responsibility in a safe and inclusive environment.
The YMCA is seeking a positive energetic Youth Karate Instructor to lead beginner and intermediate classes for children. This role focuses on teaching foundational karate skills while promoting the YMCAs core values of caring honesty respect and responsibility in a safe and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead structured karate classes for youth and or adults
- Teach basic techniques and introductory sparring skills
- Foster discipline confidence teamwork and sportsmanship
- Maintain a safe class environment and enforce YMCA policies
Qualifications:
- Background or training in karate or a related martial arts
- Experience working with youth preferred
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass required background screening
- Strong leadership communication and classroom management skills
