Aging and People with Disabilities/Nursing Facility Survey Unit part of the Oregon Department of Human Services is currently looking for one full-time permanent Resident Assessment Instrument Coordinator (Operations and Policy Analyst 3) to join the Tigard office.
You will be helping match the needs of people in the community with available federal state and local programs or other resources to meet those needs.
What Youll Be Doing:
The purpose of the Resident Assessment Instrument Coordinator is to assure that nursing facility providers and Client Care Surveyors are trained and provided ongoing technical assistance on the accurate use of the federal/state mandated Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI). The RAI is utilized to complete assessments of all nursing facility residents in order to develop plans of care and evaluate the ongoing healthcare needs of residents.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelors Degree in Business or Public Administration Behavioral or Social Sciences Finance Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years professional-level evaluative analytical and planning work.
OR;
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.
Essential Attributes
We are looking for candidates with:
- Experience as a Health care professional working with long term care and nursing facilities.
- Experience developing training to teach and instruct adult learners.
- Surveyor Minimum Qualification Test credential
- Demonstrated Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Federal and State rules/regulations governing nursing facilities.
- Resident Assessment Coordinator certification.

Working Conditions
- Required to travel long distance and overnight for up to a week to and from Nursing Facilities offices meetings/trainings.
- Required to work in long term care facilities with limited space.
- Required to transport all needed supplies for assigned space.
- May require working in excess of eight hours on some days and/or weekends/holidays in the event of serious or emergency situations.
- May be required to travel in times of poor road conditions and inclement weather.
- Required to stand sit and maneuver with equipment throughout Nursing Facilities and training environments.
- Works within busy and varying settings including Nursing Facilities.
- Lifts and carries up to 20 pounds throughout day.
- Regular work schedule with schedule changes as needed.
- Daily telephone and extensive computer use.
- Has contact with hostile individuals (e.g. displeased providers and/or administrators staff and subjects of and witnesses in investigations).
