Rate of Pay: 13.26 - 17.10 per hour
Summary:
The Business Support Officer will provide clerical and administrative support to the Team Leader while delivering excellent customer service to customers and partners of the crematorium. The role involves handling enquiries processing cremation-related administration managing payments and records and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the service.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Team Leader and wider service.
- Communicate effectively in person by telephone and in writing with customers partners and stakeholders.
- Carry out a range of administrative duties associated with crematorium services and cremations.
- Receive payments for crematorium services issue receipts and maintain financial records in line with Council regulations.
- Support the Team Leader in maintaining effective relationships with funeral directors officiants suppliers and other partners.
- Assist customers with enquiries relating to funerals memorials and crematorium services.
Qualification:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (AC) or equivalent qualification.
- NVQ Level 2 or relevant administrative/customer service experience.
- Ideally working towards ICCM Crematorium Certificate.
Essentials:
- Minimum of two years experience dealing directly with customers and partners.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan organise and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy understanding and sensitivity towards bereaved individuals.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
