The Opportunity:

West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Part-time on-call Recording Engineer.The Department of Music & Theatre seeks to hire freelance Recording Engineers to run sessions in our recording studio on a temporary contractual basis. Please submit a resume and at least one letter of recommendation. Experience with Pro Tools software is required. Successful candidates will undergo an orientation in the studio prior to working any sessions.

NOTE: This is a Part-Time Temporary Position

Essential Functions of the position:

• Recording engineers at WLU are expected to run every aspect of a recording session they are assigned to and follow all studio department and university procedures
• Duties include but are not necessarily limited to audio recording tracking signal processing mixing and mastering.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Recording engineers at WLU are required to have a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Technology from WLU a bachelors degree in audio engineering (or similar) from a different university or significant professional experience as determinedby the current music technology faculty member(s) at West Liberty University following an interview.

Skills/Abilities:

• Required proficiencies: ProTools software the care and use of microphones and microphone-related equipment the proper use and maintenance of all studio equipment including but not limited to cables patchbays preamps direct boxes computers monitors displays hard drives and instruments.
• Preferred skills: Mixing and post-production.
